This addressable WS2811 pixel string is designed for 5 V setups and is commonly used for DIY holiday lighting, house & garden installs and classic pixel projects. The standard spacing is 4" (≈ 10 cm) – a great fit for many mounts and coro props. Important for 5 V: depending on run length, brightness and wiring, planned power injection can help keep output stable.

What does WS2811 mean for pixel strings?

WS2811 is a widely used standard for digitally addressable RGB pixels. In practice, each pixel can be controlled individually – perfect for chases, color changes and clean outlines. This is the classic 5V standard pixel string with 12 mm bullet nodes and 4" spacing.

Understanding voltage drop (important for 5V)

Over longer runs, voltage at the far end can drop. With 5 V this can show up sooner, depending on length, brightness and wiring. For larger builds, planned power injection (e.g., at multiple points) helps keep colors and brightness stable.

What is the standard version?

Standard spacing is 4" (≈ 10 cm). Pixel count, connector and wire color are selected via variants.

When does 5V benefit from power injection?

It depends on run length, brightness and wiring. If voltage drop becomes visible at the end, planned power injection at one or more points helps.

Are pixels and connectors outdoor capable?

Pixels are IP68. For a long-term outdoor setup the connector matters: xConnect® is designed for outdoor use; JST needs protection/sealing depending on installation.
